    Comment from Scottish Pilot:

Need to explain what EDP stands for – assumed prior knowledge is a turn-off as no-one will understand what the tool is actually about

Essentially, this app lets public authorities share information with stakeholders on focus groups with regard to their time and place, and final outcome. Stakeholders can view the outcomes from any region. The app also lets public bodies set up events, although they need to create an event also in Eventbrite (an external tool) for stakeholders to be able to sign up. It is not clear however, how the app can help letting stakeholders know about these events, or if stakeholders are notified about new final outcome uploads. In this regard, the added value of the app compared to 1.2 and 3.1 is difficult to pin down. Notably, the difference between the idea for this tool and other online forums where communication between stakeholders can be facilitated, is not as straight-forward. Instead of creating many specialized tools, it might be easier/more comfortable for users to get acquainted with one tool, but with broader functionalities, and allow them to use it as it fits their processes.

What could be useful is a new tool with the following integrated functionalities:
    – Propose and discuss RIS3 priorities (topics)
    – Search among topics
    – Have a pre-set, dedicated topic for vision building to discuss vision statement
    – Within topics, possibility to elaborate on views/thoughts by adding comments and replying to other users’ comments
    – Upvoting/downvoting comments and replies
    – Possibility to close a topic and create a final document from the discussion
    – Possibility to set deadline for topic closure, so that users know how long they have to add their comments
    – Possibility to upload documents in discussion threads

    Hi,

    Thanks for your comments

The purpose of the app is to facilitate the organisation and management of the EDP focus groups process. The Eventbrite is a well-known application for organising events. It allows users to register for a focus group event and stay informed about it. The part of the application that is available at http://edp.s3platform.eu is inspired by the relevant JRC page at http://s3platform.jrc.ec.europa.eu/entrepreneurial-discovery-process-focus-groups In addition to that, it offers a repository were regions can find documents related to their main sectors,

In my understanding, the focus groups have physical meetings and not online discussions. Most of your proposed functionalities are included in the Action Plan Co-Design Application (http://actionplan.s3platform.eu/).

    • The guide should be more simplistic, there are so many steps it’s confusing.
    • The icon “Browse the outcomes of EDP Focus Group” could be renamed to make it easier to understand (e.g. “EDP reports”)
    • The icon “go to your region’s focus group” could also be renamed because the page gives access to all the regions => Globally icon names could be changed but the app could also be simplified
    • “create a focus group” and “go to your region’s focus group” could be combined, and a filter by region could be inserted in the “create a focus group”
Very user-friendly: both easy-to-use and easy to understand its purpose.
    – Grammatically, the title “Create or Participate to an EDP Focus Group” should be adapted into “Create- or Participate in an EDP Focus Group”.
    – No content yet, apart from the test- EDP Focus Group.
    – Pilots have two options:
    1. Make stakeholders experiment with the test- EDP Focus Group;
    2. Organize EDP Focus Groups for stakeholders, i.e. organize meetings and write content, before experimentation is possible.
    – Although it may seem understood, we would recommend to state the full “Entrepreneurial Discovery Process” term at least once in the about section (ideally in the first line) in order to make obvious to all the visitors of the portal what the EDP shortcut stands for.
    – Ok, transparent & understandable, but I wasn’t able to access it => I registered, logged in and try to create an even with this result:
